Thank you and your wife for providing for us a truly memorable occasion on Saturday last.
The meal was everything we hoped for and more; your presentation, attention to detail, accommodating the various prefernces of the children and young adults was, for us, outstanding. Every aspect of the meal was perfect - we couldn’t have asked for more.
Many, many thanks for helping to make our Golden Wedding celebration weekend one we shall always treasure.

Bristowe Hill last Sunday! The food was simply perfect … More than we could have hoped for! We truly enjoyed every course.
Everything was just so delicious.
Right down to the special details, such as Liz serving us a board of vegan canapés just for the 2 of us, so we got to try everything, was so thoughtful, and we also really enjoyed the vegan cheeses in the evening! So thank you for sourcing these for us.
We’ve had all of our guests saying how delicious the food was, and it really did make our day extra special.

Julian's catering is a 5 star service! Julian and Liz arrived punctually and brought everything they needed.
The cooking and table services were carried out very professionally and unobtrusively and the kitchen was left spotless.
We enjoyed 2 evenings of catered meals whilst staying in Grasmere to celebrate my birthday with 2 groups of friends.
We ordered from the Buttermere menu on the first night and from the Windermere menu on the second.
All dishes were beautifully presented and tasted as good as they looked! 5 stars in every way!

Julian was very flexible when our party was reduced due to COVID, and he adjusted the menu at short notice.
The food was superb and every bit as good as a top class restaurant.
Every course was beautifully cooked and served fresh from your own kitchen.

We had the pleasure of Julian’s exquisite chef services; on three evenings, during our holiday at the Waternook on Ullswater 5-12th August. Julian was personable professional and prepared, cooked and served our family the most delicious food. We would highly recommend Julian’s services which enhanced a magical holiday.

Fantastic and friendly service - couldn’t have asked for more!
Julian provided some jaw-dropping food for a group of 10 friends at our holiday rental,
we were all still talking about the apple tart days later!
Very happy to chat through the food with us and also work around our needs and requirements,
both in advance of the evening and during the evening.
Would recommend wholeheartedly.

I rarely leave reviews but felt Julian absolutely deserved a stunning review. We booked Julian for our second trip to Cumbria but this time for 3 nights. He exceeded our expectations. Every dish he made was excellent - delicious, beautifully presented and of top quality. He tailored the menu for my very fussy family. He did a covid test and wore a mask at all times. He and his staff were professional, friendly and accommodating and created a very comfortable environment. Will definitely book Julian again (for holidays and for private dining at home) and would highly recommend. Cannot praise enough.

Oh wow…what an amazing experience!
We booked Julian for my Mum’s 70th birthday celebrations in The Lakes and we were not disappointed.
From start to finish it was more than we could have hoped for.
We were so well looked after by Julian & Annabelle and the food was another level.
Beautifully prepared local produce that tasted sublime.

Julian & his team catered a meal for my Parents 60th wedding anniversary at a farmhouse we'd rented for the weekend. We contacted Julian a few times before the event and all questions were answered promptly. He arrived at the time agreed and quickly got to work creating a fabulous meal. We booked Julian for my parents belated golden wedding anniversary family get together as a surprise. Could not fault the experience at all. Julian was absolutely excellent and nothing was too much trouble, despite travelling out of his area to get to us. His food was delicious and he was friendly and professional. My parents loved it and it was the highlight of the weekend. Would highly recommend.

Booked Julian for my mum's birthday as a suprise, literally couldn't fault our experience. Julian was responsive and helpful from the start. Arriving promptly, the food was outstanding and the professionalism second to none. He was friendly and made us feel very comfortable. Mum said it was the best meal she's had in years. We had a little one sleeping so ideal for us as an alternative option to going out. Very reasonable price too. Would definitely recommend and cannot wait to be able to do it again and try some more of Julian's delicious food!!

Fantastic experience with easily some of the most delicious food I have ever had. I could not recommend Julian's service as The Cumbrian Chef highly enough, it made a long awaited family reunion and birthday celebration a truly memorable experience. Every single detail was perfect and the meal was simply beautiful. Julian was so friendly and kind and was happy to talk to us about the food when I started asking about how things were made. Just a completely luxurious experience, and best of all no dishes to clean up at the end of the night!!! Cheers, Julian!

We are delighted with our experience with chef Julian, which exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious. As a group with many vegetarians, we are always worried about veggie options being less interesting - that was not at all the case. In the days leading up to our dinner, Julian communicated clearly with us, assessing our equipment and ensuring he would have nice plates for presentation. He also showed great flexibility with arrival time and kindly played along as we were trying to surprise our friend, who was celebrating his 40th birthday. On the day, Julian also showed a lot of consideration to COVID-19 safety, discussing our preferences, and wearing a mask to protect our little ones. He also kindly brought extra food and treats for the kids to try (we hadn't ordered food for them and had prepared a separate dish). I would recommend it!

Chef Julian was fantastic from start to finish. He called me a couple of days before the event to go over everything - we had hired a property for the weekend and being unsure of the quantity of what was there, Julian brought some plates as well just in case. He was very well prepared. On the evening, Julian was fantastic, he was friendly, personable and couldn't have done any more for us. All the food was incredible and was the same, if not better, than restaurant quality but with the personal touch of getting to see the chef. He also left the kitchen cleaner than what I think it was before he came!! Would definitely do this again and the whole party was so impressed and gave the wow factor to the weekend that I was looking for. Thank you so much for all your hard work!!"
